This book just builds beautifully on her last one. I am dying for the next one!!! She creates a universe so engrossing i flip through the pages faster than i knew i could read. Her characters are well developed and the storyline is impeccable. The Satan she has created is original new and not the same refurbished bs we keep getting.Her character development and interactions have me glued and i think she is the best and most original writer to come out in a very long time. Enjoy all her books!! They are better than the trash they keep throwing at us.
I recommend this book if you need to be sucked into a lust driven nightmare/wet-dream. This writer certainly does her characters justice. They love, bleed cry, terrify and disembowel each other. Her prose and storytelling style is unique and exciting, visceral, and evil--the kind of evil that introduces you to yourself. Dark fantasy/horror/erotica that breaks you open with your own lust, love, and longing for a sense of self that will withstand your own compulsions and fears.
While I was thoroughly drawn in to Book 1, "Devil In The Details", I really enjoyed this second installment even more! A character from the previous book becomes much more prominent, and a new major character appears, who is very compelling. There is much more action taking place in "Hell To Pay", which will appeal to a wider audience, but the paranormal romance still continues, albeit a little toned-down, due to the direction of the story line.
If you enjoyed "Devil In The Details", you must read "Hell To Pay". This author has created such a rich world of fantasy, with descriptions so vivid, you will be totally immersed in that world, for better or worse! This is a truly unique vision of the battle between good and evil. I highly recommend this read. It will definitely cause you to pause and think...
Once I started the first book, Devils In The Details, I was hooked!! I am an avid reader of almost any subject, preferably history, but there are a few authors who I can not resist when it comes to scifi/fantasy. Jim Butcher, for one, Simon Green for another. Now I am adding Cat O'Nine too. She seamlessly's intertwines this intriguing story between Heaven, Hell and earth. All the characters 'good' or 'bad' have depth and character that keeps the reader immersed.
I am about to start the third, and final book. I am dying to know what happens, but dread ending the story. Yes! One of those very rare series, that are so well done you tear through them in delight- and then kick yourself when you're finished. But I can't help myself- just have to know!
~Sigh. I am off to start the finale. I can always re-read until this talented author delivers us another cant wait, can't stop story. Lets hope it's soon!!
Wow, these books are amazing. I hate to gush but hell, they are just great. I can't wait for the third one. Satan is actually sexy but we are never to forget he is extremely destructive and evil too. I mean, it's in his nature. But I really like him. I love the other characters too. Satan's girl (Maddy if I remember right) is a unique character and we are seeing she actually loves him too although she knows it's very very wrong.
